Think Southern Buttermilk Pie, but with a cinnamon Fall flavor, and made with nutritious and delicious Lifeway Vanilla Kefir, then topped with homemade apple pie filling! And the best part? It’s mini sized – made in individual tart pans, so no one has to fight about whether they got a smaller or bigger slice than the other guests! Sweet and filling, everyone will love this little dessert! This post is sponsored by Lifeway Kefir, but the opinions and thoughts are mine. A refreshing yet richly flavored blueberry curd, made with fresh blueberries and orange juice, fills this sweet shortcrust pastry. Topped with meringue that is torched to perfection, and some fresh fruit – you’ll want to make sure you have extra tarts, because everyone will be asking for more! Also, the beautiful natural dark purple color of these tarts makes them a show stopper! It’s funny, because as a food blogger, we always test our recipes ahead of time. So that means that even though, for example. Valentine’s day is February 14th – I was making and testing all the pink…

Could you tell yet that tarts are my favorite dessert? Well, if not, here is another one to prove it! A classic lemon meringue pie…but in a tart… with a sweet shortcrust pastry shell, a tart lemon curd, and a perfectly sweet and toasted meringue. Served cold, this is a fantastic dessert for a hot summer day, bursting with lemon-y freshness. The great thing is you can do so much with the leftover lemon curd too. I like to use it on top of pancakes or waffles for breakfast, fill cupcakes with it, or even just as it’s own dessert…

Let’s continue our international travel through the kitchen! Last week I shared a Norwegian style pastry with you guys. In continuing with our travel plans, I bring you Pasteis de Nata! These are yummy Portuguese style custard tarts that are dangerously easy to eat, since they’re bite sized and made with an easy homemade puff pastry! I actually have a little bit of history with this dessert! I first tried these pastries about a decade ago when I visited Portugal. At the time, I was definitely not into baking, and so I just enjoyed eating a couple (or 10) of…

Don’t you love a great citrus season? I’d been wanting to make a bright and wonderful tart, but didn’t have enough berries since it’s a bit too early. Welcome – citrus season! The color of this tart comes out so beautifully, you barely need anything to decorate it at all. I decided to add some candied oranges to enhance it a bit. I also usually love making a shortcrust for tarts, but I wasn’t in the mood to do too much baking in the oven – so I went with a cookie crust. This would be a great dessert to…

“Orange is the happiest color” Happy January everyone! This tart is super easy to make and sooo tasty. The Crust 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/3 cup melted butter Chop graham crackers in food processor until you get smooth crumbs. Add the brown sugar and continue to process for about 30 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth. Pour this mix into a large bowl and add melted butter and mix. Use a spoon to press these into the tart pan (with removable bottom – makes everything that much easier). Bake this crust in…

“Life is a lot better with chocolate” Happy New Year! Sorry to have been a bit neglectful of the blog the last month. Here is a quick and easy recipe a lot of people have been asking for. I’ll take the latter version 😉 Here’s my favorite fruit tart recipe- hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
